About ConCERT..

ConCERT.. – Connecting Communities, Environment & Responsible Tourism – is a Cambodian NGO.  Our aim is to reduce poverty by increasing the amount of support given to the organisations in and around Siem Reap.  Our office is conveniently situated in the centre of Siem Reap and we have information on a range of organisations and NGOs that are engaged in community development and support activities, and which supplement the work of the government. These cover many sectors including:

• the care of children, (orphanages, day centres & schools)
• education support
• agricultural development
• infrastructure projects
• vulnerable people, especially women and children
• health and hygiene
• the care and rehabilitation of land mine victims
• environmental & biodiversity protection

Our member organisations need your support, and all are well managed, financially transparent, and sustainable, and work in partnership with local people.  Every organisation is different and requires different types of help.  Call in and browse through their information, and talk to our staff.  We can explain what each organisation does, and what sort of assistance it requires, such as:

• funding – (day to day expenses, building projects, child sponsorship)
• materials – (school equipment, books and pens, clothes, uniforms, building materials)
• raising awareness of their activities
• volunteers

  • any fees payable
  • type of work – (teaching, manual work, administration, marketing, specialist, e.g. health care)
  • minimum length of placements
  • distance from Siem Reap
  • whether accommodation is provided

In addition to information about our member organisations, our staff will be happy to chat about the various ways you can help.  They will also be pleased to share with you information about the wider issues in Cambodia.  They can give you tips on how to provide the maximum amount of benefit from your involvement.  They can also give advice on some of the things it’s best not to do.
