THe HALO Trust The HALO Trust
is a non-political, non-religious NGO specialising in the removal of the hazardous debris of war. The HALO Trust has mineclearance and unexploded ordnance clearance programmes in Cambodia, Afghanistan, Angola, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, Georgia, Kosovo, Nagorno-Karabakh and Somaliland.

 HALO began working in Cambodia in 1991 and to date has cleared over 200,000 landmines in the north-west provinces of the country. Our headquarters is in Siem Reap, while our mineclearance operations are conducted in the provinces of Odtar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang and Pailin Municipality.


The HALO Trust has two goals:

  1. To protect potential victims in the mine affected districts of Cambodia.

  2. To restore safe access to land and infrastructure which can be put back into productive use.
